The YWCA of Northwest Georgia values our volunteers!

The YWCA can use your knowledge, talents and skills in on-going opportunities, special projects, committees or internships.  Volunteer as an individual, family or group.  We need you!  Our programs offer a variety of opportunities including:

• Board/Committee Leadership

• Assisting with events

• Clerical and office work

• Answering crisis line calls*

• Counseling*

• Legal Advocacy*

• Hospital Accompaniment*

• Working with children*

• Cooking meals for shelter residents

• Landscaping

*Client safety and confidentiality are important to us, therefore, volunteering in direct positions with survivors, children or representing the YWCA in the community requires a commitment to our organization.  All interns and non-administrative volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation, 20 hours of training, criminal background check, 40-hour online volunteer training and screening by YWCA staff member.

The daily operations of the YWCA require the skills of many volunteers in areas that involve limited client interaction.  These volunteers may help with clerical or administrative duties or landscaping and facility maintenance.  These types of opportunities are more suited for groups or for those who are unable to make a large time commitment.  A background check and screening by a YWCA staff member are required for these volunteers.

Online Victim Assistance Training is required for all volunteers and interns who have direct contact with clients.  Click on the logo below to start this training.
