Our Mission
The Academy of Women Leaders is united in advocating for the mission of our YWCA of Northwest Georgia.
Our Vision
We are a community of women working to:
-
eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault;
-
support each other;
-
develop and mentor future women leaders; and
-
and serve as a voice in the community for our YWCA of Northwest Georgia.
The Academy of Women Leaders was created exclusively for Tribute to Women of Achievement Honorees. This group provides it members with the opportunity to shape the future of the YWCA and make a real difference in the lives of women.
Climbing the corporate ladder in heels isn't easy. But for almost 30 years, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia has been celebrating women who are successfully making that ascent with our Tribute to Women in Achievement. To date, over 300 area women business leaders have been honored with this award for their willingness to break the glass ceiling for themselves and those that follow in their footsteps.
Leadership, achievement, dedication and generosity; all are qualities of the winners of the Tribute to Women of Achievement - women from all walks of life, diverse career paths and of all shapes, sizes and ethnic backgrounds. As individuals, they have a leadership style all their own, and they expertly balance business, community and family. They have helped and mentored one another unselfishly, with no fear of competition - all in an effort to ensure that each one endures as a strong contributor. With the Academy of Women Leaders, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia presents these bold and inspiring women with an exclusive opportunity to step up their commitment to creating a better world for all.
